Strategies for Reading

Did you know that there are five different components which should make up a reading program or curriculum? These are phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension (Stormont, Reinke, Herman & Lembke, 2012). Before the end of the school year, ask your child’s teacher how each are explicitly taught. If one area is lacking contact us for a free consultation. We will teach you some strategies to address the area in which instruction hasn’t been given.
